Becoming a Member of the Unitarian Church in Charleston is a positive step in your affirmation of the principles of our liberal religion and of the goals and vision of our congregation. There are two levels of membership, Member and Corporate Member.

Church Membership is open without arbitrary tests of beliefs to all who subscribe to our purpose of seeking truth and serving humankind.  One becomes a Member by signing the Membership Book in the presence of the Minister or Chair of the Vestry and one other member of the Corporation.  Typically this occurs after taking the Path to Membership class or after an interview with the Minister. Members have all of the privileges and responsibilities except those reserved for Corporate Members.

Corporate Members are those who are at least 16 years of age, who have been a church Member for at least three months, and who have paid a recorded contribution within the previous twelve months.  Only Corporate Members may vote at meetings of the Corporation (congregation).
