Your Ceremony at the Unitarian Church in Charleston
We at The Unitarian Church in Charleston believe your wedding should be a beautiful and memorable event and we will do everything possible to make it such. Our building dates back to 1787 and is a registered historic landmark. The ceiling is a Fan Tracery Ceiling, white over robin’s egg blue and is patterned after the Henry VII Chapel in Westminster Abbey. The chancel window was hand-painted between 1852 and 1854. We treasure our Historic Landmark and know you will treat it with care and respect.
Celebrant / Clergy
The Rev. Peter Lanzillotta, Ph.D.
With over 25 years of experience, Peter has an extensive background in performing weddings, offering counseling, and providing spiritual direction. He participates with each couple to design wedding ceremonies to be personal and meaningful. The services are tailored to the environs, and are meant to reflect the couple’s needs, interests, outlook, and relational ideals. Interfaith and creative interpretations have become a specialty. While Catholic and Protestant traditions are honored, a more open and inclusive approach towards spirituality and beliefs is welcomed.
