COVENANT OF UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST PAGANS OF CHARLESTON UU CHURCH Print

Charleston Chapter of The Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans

SOCIETY OF LOWCOUNTRY SPIRITUAL TRADITIONS COMMUNION WITH THE EARTH

S.O.L.S.T.I.C.E. C.U.U.P.s is a gathering where many different Earth-based spiritual paths cross. The wealth of experience and lessons of these paths are shared to enrich our lives and provide information to the community. Together we explore the spiritual teachings of Earth-centered traditions which celebrate the sacred circle of life and instruct us to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature.
Founded in 1995 and known by different names over the years, we are many things, but, perhaps, most of all we are a place to find a friendly face. We are something of a discussion group, a place where anyone may come to learn, to teach, to share, to heal, to celebrate.

Explore spiritual teachings of Earthcentered traaditions that celebrate the sacred circle of life and instructs us to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature.
Support one another on our healing, growth, and aspirations.
Honor the Earth and all her creatures as sacred and work to heal and protect the enviroment within our community, throught out our nation, cities, and across the planet.
Network among Pagen-identified UU'S providing outreach of Unitarian Universalism to the broaderPagan community.
Provide educational materials on Paganism for UU congregations and the general public.
Encourage greater use of music, dance, visual arts, poetry, story, and creative ritual in Unitarian Universalist worship and celebrations.
We emhasize experiences, and we insist on honesty and respect for differences. S.O.L.S.T.I.C.E. ias primarily a discussion group but we have many hands-on activities and throughout the year we have seasonal celebrations. Members of the UU congregation, several pagan circles and many solitaries attend our meetings. We are not a coven. We are a UU Pagan forum for friendship and learning.
The council or governing body of the group is non hierarchical and consists of devoted S.O.L.S.T.I.C.E. members. Attendance is open. We request that you come with an open mind and abide by our by-laws.
You do not have to be pagan to attend. We are often joined by students writing papers on paganism and other people who are just curious about paganism. IT IS REQUESTED  THAT YOU ASK PERMISSION BEFORE TAKING ANY PHOTOGRAPHS  OR  USING ANY NAMES.
WE do not tolerate drug use, sexism, ageism, racism, homophobic behaviors or the bashing of ANY religious paths at our meetings.
All ages are welcome at S.O.L.S.T.I.C.E. meeting. We encourage minowrs to bring their parents becasue of the controvesial nature of the Earth Based  Spirituality to the uninformed or misinformed.

Regular meetings are held on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays each month at 7:30pm at Gage Hall, UU Church in Charleston, 4 Archdale Street, Charleston, SC 29401
