Education for adults at the Unitarian Church in Charleston takes the form of a variety of classes and activities. Topics include religion and philosophy, personal development, social issues, the arts and excursions. Opportunities for parent support and education are encouraged. We also support separate groups with common needs. If you are interested in joining or leading a support group, please contact the Director of Religious Education.
There are a variety of conferences, special presentations, lectures, summer camps, and other opportunities for continuing Religious Education offered in the district and beyond by the Unitarian Universalist Association. Programs for teens and adults are most common, but there are also programs available for younger learners.
Within the Church
There are many activities and groups available and open to anyone who wishes to participate, including the Sunday Forums, the Alliance, Green Sanctuary and more. Please browse the “Get Involved” page to find out more about many of these activities and the contact information for them. Various committees and groups sponsor special programs and educational opportunities throughout the year. Events are advertised on the website, and in the monthly newsletter, The Gateway, which is emailed monthly or can be mailed by request to newcomers, friends, and members of the church.
