Art on Our Walls
We welcome the work of author Cam Poston and illustrator, Sarah Ball (Amy Ball’s daughter) for our Illustrated Book Show of Liam’s Christmas Gift. This show will run until July 8.
The structure located in the rear of the church yard is a “Burning Bowl,” available for the congregation’s use. The bowl is meant to contain dreams, prayers, regrets, wishes, etc., that are written on paper and burned in the bowl as symbol of closure, gratitude, release or whatever meaning each participant ascribes. Directions and supplies are located at the Welcome Table in Gage Hall. Please use the bowl responsibly and be sure to return supplies. —The Worship Committee
Collecting for CAJM
Members of our church have been very generous in their investments in CAJM since its inception, and we thank you for that. As the important work of CAJM continues, we hope that generosity also will continue. There are three ways you can donate:
- (Preferred) Make a check out to CAJM, and mail it directly to CAJM, P.O Box 71416, North Charleston, SC 29415. Be sure your name and address are clear so that you can receive documentation for tax purposes at the end of the year.
- The current Social Justice red envelope collection during Sunday services is for CAJM. If you put a check in the red envelope, please be sure it is made out to CAJM, not the church.
- Bring a check to the CAJM Celebration on May 23.
Many thanks for all your support in time, talent and contributions!
Childcare is offered each Sunday starting at 9:30. This Sunday only the nursery will be available.
Parking is very limited behind the church. You must have a hang tag if parking behind Gage Hall. Please contact the office for more information. We cannot park in the Charleston Day School’s spots behind Gage Hall although we do have access to their front parking lot at 15 Archdale Street on Sunday mornings. This is a small lot and is given priority to those with mobility issues. The 2 closest garages are the Queen Street garage at 93 Queen Street and the Majestic Square garage at 158 Market Street. Parking in the garages is free on Sundays if you exit by 1:00 p.m. and give the attendant the order of service. Please note that parking in the Lutheran Church’s lot will result in your car being towed.
Summer services begin June 26 and will continue through September 4. The 2016 summer service brochure will be available this weekend at the Welcome Table.
