Gage Hall Coffeehouse

Presents Lindsay Holler

Saturday, November 18, 7:30 pm

The Gage Hall Coffeehouse presents a special performance by Lindsay Holler on Saturday, November 18 at 7:30 pm. Holler is well known around town.  “….her voice moves onto the sidewalk through a cracked upstairs window on dusky afternoons.   It smells you with its tongue, pensively considers, and strikes. In clubs and theatres… it’s the same. On some occasions, it caresses; other times accuses. When amplified it can be seen on the air … then we all drown.”

Holler presently lives in Charleston. She hails the South as home and has lived in New Orleans and New York; she studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Her music’s current state of evolution is supported by a little twang and a little late-night clarity. Holler cites influences from the likes of Tom Waits, Gram Parsons, Nina Simone and Neil Young – preferring genre straddles, categorical misfits and indefinables. Our Gage Hall listening room will provide a great venue for Holler to perform on November 18. Don’t miss it! It will be memorable.

Home-baked desserts, coffee and sodas will be available. Parking is available across the street and behind Gage Hall. Profits from Gage Hall Coffeehouses support enrichment activities in Charleston-area elementary schools. We are currently sponsoring science-oriented field trips for all students at Mitchell Elementary School. Gage Hall is located at 4 Archdale Street. Suggested donation of $15 for Adults; $5 for Students. Call 224-4472 or 367-9663 for more information.
